Senior Quality Manager

We are seeking a Senior Quality Manager to lead and develop our Centre Quality team, ensuring external quality assurance of centres aligns with City & Guilds' processes, regulatory requirements, and Centre Assessment Standards Scrutiny (CASS) strategy. This role will play a crucial part in mitigating risk, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and ensuring valid and reliable learner outcomes.

As a key leader, you will provide direction and support to a high-performing team, manage resources effectively, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory standards

You will be working on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and office.

About the role

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team to achieve department goals, deliver exceptional service, and meet key SLAs.
  • Work with senior leadership to develop and implement the department’s strategy, objectives, and key results.
  • Oversee risk management and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with CASS strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish a framework for performance reviews, training, and recognition to nurture a high-performance culture.
  • Act as a City & Guilds ambassador with key external stakeholders, including Centres, Ofqual, IFATE, and QW.
  • Identify non-compliance issues, conduct risk assessments, and ensure necessary actions are taken to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Successfully manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and implementing recommendations.
  • Set and manage team expenditure to ensure efficient resource allocation.

About you

  • Extensive experience in quality assurance of centre assessment, including verification and moderation.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing teams
  • Experience in project management and leading teams through change
  • Financial acumen with experience in budget management.
  • A results-driven mindset with a strong track record of performance improvements.
  • Decision-making skills and accountability for outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate strategy clearly.
