Marketing Director

We are seeking a Product Marketing Director to provide strategic leadership to our Heads of Marketing. 

This is a Head of Function role, forming part of our Marketing and Customer Insights Senior Team and reporting directly into our Executive Director for Marketing and Customer Insights. 

City & Guilds have ambitious growth plans over the next 3-5 years and this role will be key to driving our revenue targets and profitability across our marketing campaigns as well as digital and content marketing. 

We are wanting to hear from candidates that are currently working as a Marketing Director, Product Marketing Director, Director of Marketing Strategy or equivalent, have proven strategic leadership skills, have managed a diverse portfolio and has a proven track record of driving revenue and profitability. 

This Head of Function role has a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package that includes our head of function bonus scheme. You can be based anywhere across the UK for this role but you must be willing to travel to our London office (EC1) or Wakefield Office (WF1) if required. 

We are holding interviews for this role from week commencing 16th June. 

This appointment will be made on merit.

About the role

Reporting directly into the Executive Director of Marketing and Customer Insights, this senior level role forms part of our directorates senior management team. You will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Leadership to the Heads of Marketing, overseeing each business area including Digital and Content
  • Developing comprehensive marketing strategies and driving revenue growth
  • Collaborating closely with other departments within Marketing and Customer Insights as well as Sales, Product
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators and metrics 
  • Develop competitor analysis and strategies 
  • Manage and allocate marketing budgets efficiently, optimising return on investment

About you

  • You will need to have a proven track record in a strategic marketing leadership role
  • A deep understanding of lead generation strategies and their impact on revenue
  • Customer first mindset
  • You must be commercially minded, with experience of managing a diverse portfolio (Millions)
  • The ability to understand proposition pain points to drive product profitability and revenue through market campaigns as well as digital and content marketing. 

Additionally, you will need to have exceptional leadership skills and team management skills, empowering your team of 6 direct reports and a directorate of circa 15 people. Naturally you will have excellent communication and collaboration skills whilst also being analytically minded to interpret data to drive strategic decision making.
