Qualification Standards Manager

You will work within the Technical Standards and Operational Research team and take responsibility and accountability for developing, monitoring, maintaining and communicating fit for purpose standards across a wide portfolio of qualification types, ensuring we maintain our global reputation as a leading vocational education business.

This is a full-time role (35 Hours per week) but we offer flexible working arrangements. You will need to be able to occasionally commute into our London EC1A head office for this role.

About the role

As Qualification Standards Manager, you’ll ensure City & Guilds’ qualifications meet the highest standards of validity, reliability, and compliance. You’ll provide expert guidance internally and externally, develop assessment strategies and policies , and work closely with internal teams to ensure our products meet regulatory and organisational requirements throughout the qualification life-cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

· Advise on qualification design principles, development, assessment methodologies. standard setting and incident mitigation.

· Lead the creation and review of policies, strategies, guidance and training materials related to the work of the team.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and valid assessment outcomes.

· Support qualification review panels, awarding and other internal teams with expertise on design and standards.

· Build strong relationships with stakeholders and represent City & Guilds at events and research conferences.

· Deliver training based on research and embed best practices across teams.

About you

· Expertise in qualification and assessment design principles

· Experience setting and monitoring vocational qualification standards on internal and external assessment

· Strong knowledge of quality assurance (e.g., CASS requirements).

· Excellent communication, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to write clear policies and guidance materials.

· Proven experience in regulated awarding organisations.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workloads independently.
