Content Marketing Manager

We have a 12-month maternity cover opportunity for the role of Content Marketing Manager. This is your chance to take the lead in shaping and executing our content marketing strategy across all business units, ensuring our messaging is cohesive, impactful, and engaging for key audiences.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact while managing a team of Content Marketing Executives. You’ll collaborate closely with various teams to deliver high-quality, targeted marketing content that drives brand awareness, engagement, and results.

You will be working on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and office.  We're flexible about where you might be based to undertake this role, but you'll need to be able to travel into our London office as well as ad hoc travel to other locations as required.

About the role

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy that aligns with City & Guilds’ business objectives.
  • Plan and deliver content that supports product launches, campaigns, and brand initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging across channels.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Content Marketing Executives, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Oversee the creation of a variety of content formats, including blogs, whitepapers, videos, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Manage the content marketing calendar, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with broader marketing plans.
  • Execute multi-channel campaigns to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business units to align content with broader objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Operations & Performance team to analyse and optimise content performance
  • Stay ahead of trends in content marketing, SEO, and digital marketing.

About you

  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing or a related role.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team.
  • Strong writing and editing capabilities with a portfolio of high-quality content.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital marketing principles.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform strategies.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
